I understand and agree with Amanda’s point of view about explicit Sherlock fanart, as I explained in this post. But I’m certainly willing to look at other viewpoints as long as they are proposed respectfully, as you did with your ask, so thank you very much for that! I take this message so much more seriously than I would if it was random anon hate. Anyways, I completely agree - surely if Amanda has a problem with graphic fanart of Martin and the character he portrays (as she has every right to), she would have a problem with her children potentially seeing their father in nude and sexual scenes with other actresses!? Perhaps she is against that as well but simply did not bring it up in that interview as the article was about Sherlock? I think that’s the most likely explanation. Despite what so many people on Tumblr are making it seem, Amanda did not directly attack or accuse the Sherlock fandom itself. She simply expressed her concern and dislike for those kinds of images relating to Martin being there on the internet for anyone to see. So it’s quite possible that she was talking about his sex scenes, as well.
